Letter to Congressional Leaders Urging for COVID-19 Demographic Data

Hispanic Federation joined Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum and Trust for America's Health, along with around 250 other organizations in urging congressional leaders to ensure the federal government has the resources to address barriers to the collection, analysis, and regular public reporting of individuals with COVID-19 in order to equitable respond to the pandemic.

Letter to HHS Secretary Azar Urging for COVID-19 Demographics

Hispanic Federation joined Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum and Trust for America's Health in urging Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar in urging for public reporting disaggregated demographic data on individuals with COVID-19 in order to equitably respond to this crisis.

Pandemic EBT Program for Puerto Rico

Hispanic Federation joined the Youth Development Institute of Puerto Rico and numerous organizations in urging Congress for the next COVID-19 legislative relief include language granting Puerto Rico access to the resources for a Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) options. The Families First Coronavirus Response Act of 2020 ​(Families First) did not provide Puerto Rico with access to the resources provided to the States and other territories to implement the P-EBT option.

Letter to Secretary DeVos for Access to COVID-19 Relief for Undocumented Students

Hispanic Federation joined CLASP and United We DREAM and almost 270 organizations in demanding Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos to revise the exceptions to allow higher education institutions to use the emergency funds to provide aid to ALL students according to need and regardless of immigration status.

Organizational Letter to Florida Legislators Urging for Immediate Statewide Protections for Farmworkers during COVID-19 Pandemic

Requests include access to healthcare, safe working conditions, safe child care for workers and families, food security, safe housing, unemployment insurance, direct assistance disaster fund, language equity and access, and protection from immigration raids.

Second Open Letter About COVID-19 and LGBTQ+ Communities

Hispanic Federation proudly joins Whitman-Walker Health, the National LGBT Cancer Network, GLMA, SAGE, National Queer Asian Pacific Islander Alliance, New York Transgender Advocacy Group, and more 170 other organizations in issuing a second open letter to public health officials, healthcare institutions and government leaders on the impact of COVID-19 on LGBTQ communities. LGBTQ patients must be protected from discrimination and sexual orientation and gender identity need to be included in data collection.

Family Equity is joined by Hispanic Federation and 183 other organizations in a letter to Congress urging for all-inclusive language to be included in the upcoming COVID-19 response legislation. It is important to ensure that discrimination is prohibited in all federally funded COVID-19 benefits and services.

Protecting Migrants, Asylum Seekers, and Refugees During the COVID-19 Crisis on the US-Mexico Border

The current COVID-19 pandemic calls for the protection of migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers in situations of vulnerability in the Mexico- United States border region. The National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, along with Hispanic Federation and other organizations, call upon border Mayors and local government officials to enact protections that will help save lives of migrants, refugees, and children caught in the vulnerable situations while upholding human rights and international laws.
