CREAR Futuros Is Rhode Island Bound

CREAR Futuros is a “Community of Care” model program that is providing Latino college students with place-based supports to help boost student GPA, retention, course completion, and graduation rates. Since the launch of the program in 2012, over 1,200 students have been provided with peer-mentorships, leadership development opportunities, and access to social services.

Thanks to the critical support of partners in philanthropy — including the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation, The Coca-Cola Foundation, Morgan Stanley, Univision and Macy’s — the program is continuing its national expansion efforts.

This Fall, CREAR Futuros is planting its flag at Rhode Island College, the state’s first public institution serving more than 7,400 students. Through this expansion, CREAR Futuros is increasing its reach to 4 states: New York, Florida, Connecticut and Rhode Island, operating on 9 college campuses, and serving approximately 800 Latino college students. For more information on our CREAR Futuros project, please contact our AVP for Programs, Jessica Guzman Mejia.
