HF’s Affiliate Nonprofit Leaders’ Meeting

Last week Hispanic Federation hosted its second Executive Directors’ meeting of the new year. Over 30 of our member agency directors attended the event to discuss key issues for members in 2016. In addition, they heard from various speakers including Commissioner Lisette Camilo of the New York City DCAS and Rachel Lauter, Director of Mayor’s Office of Appointments, who discussed increasing diversity within the City Government workforce, HF’s Director of Immigration and Civic Engagement Jessica Orozco on DAPA and DACA, and others.

“This is going to be a busy year for us and for our member agencies,” said HF President José Calderón. “From education and health care to immigration reform and Mayor DeBlasio’s new affordable housing plan, there are a number of issues that are going to impact directly on millions of Latino families. Our member agencies are on the front lines on many of these issues and they really help guide our strategy. It’s important to us to meet with them regularly and benefit from their insights.”
