“We are beyond disappointed by the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals decision. Reversing the district court’s decision means that voter discrimination and voter suppression will be lawful in Florida. The ongoing attacks by the state legislature on the rights of immigrants, the LGBTQ+ community, and the black and brown residents of the state of Florida make it clear that this is another attempt at diminishing our collective rights.

Hispanic Federation (HF), the nation’s premier Latino nonprofit membership organization, celebrated its annual star-studded gala, chaired by Lin-Manuel Miranda, at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City last night. The gala returned in full force for the second time since the pandemic began and raised more than $3 million in support of Latino causes.

With one week remaining until Chicago’s mayoral runoff election on April 4, Northwestern University’s Center for the Study of Diversity and Democracy (CSDD) and a coalition of Black and Latino nonprofits released the results of a second nonpartisan poll. The poll shows candidates Brandon Johnson and Paul Vallas in a neck-and-neck race to the finish line. Coalition members include Hispanic Federation, Illinois Black Advocacy Initiative, Latino Policy Forum and Latino Victory Project.

HAMILTON is returning to Puerto Rico for two weeks in June, with a special benefit performance being held on Friday, June 16, 2023 in support of the Hispanic Federation (HF) and the Flamboyan Arts Fund. The benefit performance of the award winning musical will help strengthen and advance both nonprofit’s efforts to uplift Puerto Rican communities throughout the archipelago. Original cast members, including Renée Elise Goldsberry, Christopher Jackson, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Leslie Odom Jr., will attend the benefit performance and a special VIP donor reception.

The Illinois Latino Agenda and it’s partners are determined to improve Latino voter turnout in this mayoral election

Today, Hispanic Federation, La Casa Norte, the Puerto Rican Cultural Center and the Illinois Latino Agenda (ILA) held a press conference to kick off part of the largest Latino GOTV campaign in Chicago’s history. Volunteers gathered outside of La Casa Norte in Humboldt Park before starting a day of door knocking to get out the Latino vote.

Hispanic Federation (HF) hosted its first Advance Change Together (ACT) convening in San Francisco, California during the National LGBTQ Task Force’s 2023 Creating Change Conference. The ACT convening brought together community-based organizations from across the country to discuss the barriers and issues facing Latinx LGBTQ+ communities and how best to address them.

On Wednesday, February 8, Hispanic Federation (HF) hosted Fiesta Benéfica, its first gala in Puerto Rico that celebrated five years of recovery efforts and raised funds for HF's ongoing commitment to the archipelago. At the gala, Hispanic Federation welcomed 18 new Puerto Rico nonprofit organizations into its membership to strengthen their existing collaborations and help lead sustainable recovery initiatives.
