HF Sends Largest Aid Package Received by the Municipality of San Juan, Puerto Rico

Hispanic Federation sent two cargo planes – one on October 24 and one on October 25 – that brought 220,000 pounds of essential goods including water, canned goods, baby food and other essential supplies to the Roberto Clemente Coliseum in Puerto Rico’s capital after receiving a direct request from the Mayor of San Juan Carmen Yulín Cruz last week. This is the largest donation given to the Mayor and the Coliseum since Hurricane Maria struck. Hispanic Federation’s President José Calderón and Senior Vice President Frankie Miranda traveled to San Juan to personally deliver the aid and discuss additional needs with the mayor.

HF Raises $14 Million for Puerto Rico Relief and Recovery Efforts

Hispanic Federation has raised $14 million in just 24 days through the Unidos Disaster Relief & Recovery Program, which was established after Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico on September 20.

Facing the worst natural disaster in Puerto Rico’s history, people of different backgrounds and from different places have come together as one to provide a helping hand. As of October 14, donations have been received from more than 100,000 people from all 50 states, every US territory, and from 23 countries around the world. The average donation is $103.
