CONNECTICUT—Hispanic Federation (HF) and The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving’s Latino Endowment Fund are calling on all Latino residents in the Greater Hartford region to participate in a new survey aimed at understanding and addressing the needs of their community. This survey presents a unique opportunity for individuals to contribute their voices, experiences, and perspectives to enhance the quality of life for all Latinos in the Greater Hartford region. Survey responses, which will remain confidential, will help inform policies and programmatic initiatives that truly address the need of Latino communities.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau's 2019 American Community Survey, the Hispanic or Latino population in the Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) was estimated to be approximately 268,000, accounting for around 18% of the total population. The Latino community in the Hartford region continues to experience barriers to quality education, employment, Healthcare, and more. This survey will help Hispanic Federation better understand those barriers and the quality of life of Latinos in the Hartford region.

"Our survey will capture a diverse range of perspectives, reflecting the vibrant diversity of the Latino community in the Greater Hartford region. By participating in the survey, Latinos have the opportunity to make their voices heard and shape the future of their community. We encourage all Latinos to participate and share their diverse and valuable insights to create stronger communities,” said Yanidsi Velez, Hispanic Federation’s New England Regional Director.

"We urge every Latino resident in the Greater Hartford region to take a few moments to complete the survey and share their experiences. Your participation is crucial in shaping initiatives to uplift our community and address our challenges," said Barbara Fernandez, Latino Endowment Steering Committee Chair.

The survey, which is offered in both English and Spanish, aims to collect valuable insights on the quality of life, challenges, and opportunities experienced by Latinos living in the 29 cities and towns of the Greater Hartford area. Specifically targeting Latinos aged 18 and above. People interested in taking the survey can read the $250 gift card sweepstakes rules here.
